£120 for a 350d body, plus £40 ish for a lens. Try DSLR - you only need the PASM modes and one wheel to set things. Purchase a book dedicated to the model and you can then learn as much or as little as you like. No substitute for the handling of a full sized camera if you have the room and willingness to carry it with you.
