Default Which Automatic Chain oiler (Scottoiler or another?)

Hi guys,

I have recently been looking into the scottoiler systems as it seems like a very good way to improve the life of my chain whilst reducing maintenance times. Having a look at their website, I can see that they sell the vSystem & the eSystem. The eSystem seems to utilise electronics to do effectively the same job and charges a £120 price premium for it? i.e. over double the price

The benefits I can see are that the eSystem is:
1) Slightly easier to install as you do not have to worry about attaching the vacuum pipe to the engine
2) The eSystem has more (and easier) fine tuning as you can set the exact flow rate
3) The electronic read out tells you how much chain lube you have left
4) The reservoir is slightly larger meaning you do not have to worry about topping up as often.

As far as I can see, apart from on initial setup when the eSystem is easier to get in place and adjusted as nessesary with flow rates the benefits seem marginal as it just comes down to checking the reservoir for how much is there and filling it up when necessary which would be less often as it has a larger capacity? Even then, you can buy larger capacity reservoirs for £30 & £40 respectively as additional accessories.

I was wondering if anyone has had experience with the eSystem and knows if there are additional benefits I am missing or if I am underestimating the benefits mentioned being worth the £110 price premium?

Regards,

Ravi
