I had to with my SV since the alarm drained the battery flat in as little as two weeks. Had to dump a battery because of that. If I don't use the gixxer for a couple of weeks it can struggle to start. Perhaps a dodgy battery. Defo a lot cheaper to just optimate it than buy a new one though.
