Unfortunately changing the gearing won't help you much there, as I said there really isn't much in the top speed by running it higher than 14/44. A standard faired SV generally won't hit it's limiter in top on 15/44, I think some of the Minitwin racers run that gearing on tracks like Snetterton or Silverstone (or is it 15/46 I can't remember) but you won't see a benefit on your average trackday.

The only real way to deal with the R1 brigade who are slow enough to get in your way on a trackday is to stuff them up the inside properly on the brakes and run them wide. After that they tend to stay away from you, but if you're good enough to do that safely enough not to get chucked out then you probably shouldn't be in that group anyway! Ask Rossi.......
