After 6 months of my SV being off the road (all of that glorious summer!) I finally got it back out, taxed and insured yesterday. Sure enough the skies turned grey and misty drizzle put a literal dampener on my first ride out in a while. Felt very tense, overthinking every lean in the wet, arms locking up even though I was trying to relax. And bike felt a bit lumpy even with a fresh tank of fuel. In short, I came back really not having enjoyed it at all.
Then today, the sun came out and I headed out for an hour or two expecting to not really enjoy it again. But... I had a brilliant couple of hours out! Warm, dry, fairly clear roads and just relaxed into the riding. Everything flowed. I've been toying with the idea of selling the SV when it was off the road, either just to sort out our dire family finances or to get something else instead and I'm so glad I didn't as I just loved it this morning.
Didn't really get anywhere particular and had no intended route, but did end up next to this structure in the picture. Points for anyone who knows where and what it is. (Clue :It's north of Bristol)
