The problem with that picture is it makes it look like a horizontal seat which, if you look at their complete bike, it isn't. This seat is aesthetically different (though not to my taste) but I doubt whether it would enhance the comfort.
In order to remove the slope from the AL7-onwards seat, you would need extra foam which would raise the seat height. Suzuki have claimed the "lowest seat height in its class" by having a steep slope to the tank and then fitting a narrow seat with little padding.
Earlier SV models had a two level rider/pillion set up which was, arguably, better since the rider's seat was more horizontal. Look at a picture of (say) a 2009 SV650S and see the difference.
