I've been running Contiforce rubber on my SVs for the last couple of years. They do a similar mileage to the Avons I used to use. So why did I switch?
I wanted a front tyre that had a more curved profile. In other words I found the Avon a bit light on steering, which was okay in the dry but felt even lighter in wet conditions.

I also found the rear Contiforce harder to spin in the wet than the avon, again giving more confidence.

Add to all this the very good price and it's hard to find a downside.
