just to be sure , you need "power" resistors, i.e. ones which will cope with at least 10Watts. If you go to somewhere like Maplins, they'll be able to help.

Although they will be seeing more that 10W while the current is flowing, they are only on for half the time (approx) so you can get away with it.

25Watt resistors are only a few pence dearer than 10W versions usually, so would be ideal if you can get them.

Typical general purpose electronic application resistors are often only 0.25Watt, so are definitely NOT suitable.
