Well, I am quite heavy - and would expect to be in the 13.5-14st category once I sort myself out again.

The stock settings on the SV shock are positively crap, and at the moment I have to have it one away from maximum preload. Any harder, and the shock has practically no travel - while maintaining the the same damping rate.

So... there's no point me going to a softer spring, and even though as you say the Thou's one isn't much harder - I'm sure it'll make all the difference.
