I would look at this from another angle.

If you were moving your bike past a parked car and you slipped, stumbled, scraped a panel, you can bet your bottom dollar that there would be a serious claim coming your way, probably stating how fast you were travelling as you pushed your bike past :P

Get an estimate, deliver it to the house, and wait until you have the money in your hand.

I had an incident with a truck, a few years ago, this driver pulled across the front of my cab, he then reversed into the door and corner panel.

I was parked up at the time and I jumped out and ran to his door to pull him out He was almost in tears, explained he had just started driving, and gave me a telephone number to call. I took the registration and his name, and he left.

My company had a £11.000 repair bill, they called this number who had never heard of the driver, the police checked the truck reg and found it was not insured and the company who owned the truck had sold it
