Find a good independent mechanic who can stamp the book, and get them to do the work for half the cost. Easier still... do the oil, plugs and filter yourself and save more £'s on their expensive time!

As mentioned, if you can say the bike has had it's service, show the stamp, produce the receipts... then not only will it be more attractive to any buyers looking for similar machines, but it'll also run better as well - good for punters who test-ride.
