Did the deal on Thursday, traded my k3 svs for a rather lovely J2 ZX6R Ninja
Now, I'm not about to slag off how crap the Sv is compared to an il4 becuase they are completely different bikes for different purposes..but...if you haven't ridden one yet go do it this weekend!!
power delivery is silky smooth, up to about 7k doesn't feel that much different from the SV, but 7 to ten k feels crazy, you want to change gear cos the engine's screaming, then you realise you've got another 4k to go before the redline

and that 4k is the bad boy!!! OHMG!!!!! welcome to warp speed

brakes are amazing, six pot calipers bring you back down smoothly and quickly and feel really firm. Suspension feels a lot more planted as well, the bike felt like it didn't want to dive as much as the SV did. Getting used to no engine braking is weird, i find i'm using the brakes a lot more, but the missus prefers it as she finds it easier to stay in one position on the pillion rather than fighting the braking.
There's only one real problem, I mainly use my bike for central london commuting and a bit of fun at the weekend, the SV did it all with pefect manners, happy at 20mph and happy at 100mph(on private road

)
The Ninja feels angry and impatient, as soon as you start twisting the throttle, it wants you to twist it some more.....
There may be trouble ahead.......
Seriously though, i loved my SV, was great, did exactly what it said on the tin etc
But go try an il4, BIG grin factor fun.....
p.s. just as a side note, i don't feel I was anywhere near getting to the limits of my SV and have a huge amount to learn about riding, but have agreed to give up in a couple of years when the missus pops the first sprog so wanted to get out there and try everything
