I had a bike nicked back in 2003. my chain snapped while i was out (about 1am ish) rather than push it home 3 miles i got my parents to go to my house and get all my locks and locked it up round the back of some church. went back in the morning to find the police interviewing some guy. bunch of guys had stole his van and loaded my bike into it. the van was hound burnt out and my bike was found in some guys livingroom
it was written off. they had trashed it just hot wiring it. got it started but there was no chain so it wouldn't budge

so i paid the 150 to get the uplift and the insurance took... 9 MONTHS to pay out. and even then they got my name wrong on the cheque
