Try this first:

Go somewhere out of the way, shouldn't be a problem considering where you live.

Stick it in second from first, roll the throttle on and off at all sorts of revs, loads of acceleration and engine braking, try it all again changing down from third. Under what circumstances does it pop out of gear?Always when hard on the throttle? Think about exactly when it happpens. If it will go into gear and stay there in either case there is a possibility that the problem you have is with selectors/detent, if it consistently pops out under power and/or over-run when you have put it into second from either third or first it's far more likely that the trouble is with the engagement dogs.
If that's the case then the detent bits from JHS won't help.
