Yea it's Friday ... Boo received a parking fine ..!
Being a newbie to London, I appear not fully aware of the parking rules for motorbikes.
I have been happily using my Sv to commute to work, but yesterday I left it at home and risked the tubes.
This morning I was at greeted with a sticky black and yellow parking fine stuck to the tank of my bike.
My bike was parked outside my home on the road which has a permit charge for two hours of the day. It was parked within the same bay as my car (which has a valid permit).!
I remember asking the permit office when purchasing my car permit that I didn’t need to purchase a permit for my bike. On a separate occasion I asked a traffic warden about parking my bike on permit/parking meter roads and was advised that it ‘should’ be ok if you park sharing a bay with a vehicle displaying a valid parking permit/meter credit.
Can someone explain where bikes can park if the road is permit parking and there are no solo motorbike bay’s near.
I already know you can’t park on the pavement (even if your clearly not obstructing any pedestrians), as I have already encountered a pleading conversation with a traffic warden to prevent getting a ticket.
I’m a little too accustomed to being able to ride in bus lanes and pretty much park where you like...
