Another reason to have a curvy! Pointy's are so light it gets blown off the side-stand.
Seriously though, that is rotten luck. I was going to suggest just filling and spraying the tank. There is no justifiable need to get it replaced if there's only a small dent.
Was it parked somewhere with a rising slope to the left? This would bring the C of G closer to upright.
