That'd be offset by the "safety" aspect of evidence to present to the opposition's insurers when a muppet pulls out in front of you when filtering, etc. Personally, I reckon it's only a matter of time before pricier cars (probably be followed by tourers a couple years later, a la gps) feature "black boxes" that record gear, rpm, steering angle, etc and film for the past minute or so (wouldn't even need a HD). At the press of a button this overwritting could be disabled and the information recorded stored, ready to be copied to a PC.
Imagine, no more "no witness" problems when you get smidsy'd and the person who did it then refuses to accept liability.
