I dont know how true this is, but I've read that dyno testing does no favours to tyres. Can someone with more knowledge comment on this?

Seriously, the only way to manage things is to enforce the power limit with a consistent dyno.
Wouldn't worry about tyre wear, it's not that dramatic (assuming they haven't tied the bike down too hard) even on soft race tyres.
