Hogzi, I did similar. Race can with universal BS stamped baffle insert (as seen on e*ay
) chopped down by 4". Unless they actually remove it at the roadside and realise it's not much quieter in than out then there's not much to prove me wrong short of a dB test. It certainly passed an MOT without comment.
When i got the insert at first, a few mates swore blind it made the bike seem noisier, as it changed from a low boom to a fut-fut-fut that was more annoying. That's my excuse.
