For teh duration of the olympisc, you're spot on... But think about it. Every road that gets relayed, every stadium that gets upgraded, every penny spent on infrastructure will still be there when the olympics leave. In Edinburgh we're still seeing the benefits of the commonwealth games in '86. (we're even going to financially benefit from the G8 riots in 2005
