It's definately a case of 'suck it and see'.
Fitting a different length shock and then changing the links to get the suspension height back again, moves the linkage into a different part of the rate curve, mostly reports have suggested this not to be problematic, but I've ridden a couple of bikes which have been horrible.
I don't recall which bits were which, but you'll find out soon enough if your setup is good or not.
