Because,

CF is much more vulnerable to heat damage than any other can material... Titanium being next. And what you're doing here, is causing a fire or small explosion in your end can.
This is also why it's important to stay on top of repacking carbon and ti end cans- carbon can burn up, ti can discolour.
You know you can buy flamer kits? It's a sparkplug for the exhaust, and a cut-out for one of the coils. Basically, push a button and that cylinder stops sparking, and the plug in teh end can starts, causing a better burn and with the engine at close to full power- 30 foot flames can be had apparently

Harder to hide the spark on an external bike can, wouldn't be hard on an underseat though.
