You do need insurance to drive on the road, it is issued against the chassis number (VIN), the insurance company were au-fait with it all and did it no problems.

do remember giving the chasis number to ebike before i rode to the centre

so yes i was insured even though the bike was not registered to me at that time

it was such a balls up of paperwork(by the dvla / sva centre ) to get the damn registration that SMALL detail had slipped my mind

took about 5 days fri to tuesday for the buggers to sort the paperwork out, all because the importer had written Trials/enduro down as the vehicle type.
