The waterproof tax disc holders are never waterproof either !
I had to scrape my old disc out with a stanley knife blade as it had turned to sticky mush.
I've "laminated" this years with clear sticky back plastic to try and prevent the problem. (probably watched too much Blue Peter as a kid
