Now that the weather has become much more cheerful, I have been able to get out of London at the weekends for rides much more

Thing is I live pretty much in the middle and takes me at least and hour and half to get out of London

i.e not 30mph, littered with speed traps and traffics lights. I usually head down the A217 through Mitcham, Rose Hill etc toward Reigate - A25, A29 etc as I'm from that area and know the roads and now has become habit.

This weekend I stayed at a friends place (in Kent) and it was great being able to ride straight away. So, my question is to those who live in London, what is the quickest way to get out to some more 'enjoyable' roads.
