Suggests that a spice could potentially be the fruit of such a plant.
The main point I was making is that it's not strictly a fruit in the biological sense. I don't believe spice is so strictly defined.
edit: bugger, it could be considered a spice if it was dried first. The plant itself is a herb, though the banana itself isn't, as such.
