I'd have to agree with others here, the only reason I get flashed at by on-coming cars is a warning.

Hope you ain't making a generalisation there :P I drive a Ford Galaxy, and even before my CBT I'd stick a left indicator on to let a biker know I'd seen them. Motorways usually aren't an issue unless it's heavy with traffic, but even then, I'll sit as far left as I can so the bike behind knows I'm one of the considerate 'cagers'.
Whilst on the subject of mobile phones, that's what handsfree kits are for isn't it?

But usually when I flash my lights at a biker it's one of a few things. 1) A compliment on his/her bike, 2) I'm saying 'Hi' to someone I know or 3) My jealousy, since I've got the kids in the back arguing, and the other half chewing my ear off about something I don't really care about (
Just in case she reads this, she's not that bad, honest) and I'm trapped in a cage on a beautifully sunny day. Although, me & my 18month old play the great game of 'Car, Van, Bike, Daddy Bike' when we're out. Please spare a thought for the guys like us, especially in the summer when it's hard enough to see in the shade/sun areas.
Incidentally, if I have to tell anyone to slow down, I light up like a christmas tree. Hazards & flashing full beam. Ignore that & you'd deserve the points if you're lucky enough for it not to be a tree logger round my parts.
(Yes, I'm expecting the comments)
OK, so maybe that was a bit of a rant, but no offence intended

Honest. In the words of my DAS instructor "Spare a thought for the guy behind you." Also, yes, granted, the next MPV you overtake could be a complete t**t, just saying we aint all that bad!
