So the alarm could be a red herring.

Let's look at the fuse blowing.
I'd start disconnecting live from the fuel pump (at the pump end) and testing the resistance between the pump terminal (you've just disconnected the live from) and ground {bike chassis or -ve battery terminal}.

If it close to 0 ohm, you've got a faulty pump.

If it's a reasonably high figure (>100) then you have a short in the 12v feed (it's resistance to ground will be 0-ish ohm). You'll need to trace the wire back to the fuse and find where it's shorted (should be easy to spot as it's probably burnt). Replace the cable.

If you haven't got a multimeter, disconnect the live from the pump. Replace the fuse. If it still blows you have a short in the feed to the pump.

Do, as above, as close to the pump as possible, might save you having to remove it from the tank.
