Default Re: Is it E10 or E5 for a 1999 SV

could be worse you could live in merica where some states are E85.

its ethanol... the stuff people drink. people go on and on about saving the planet but when the powers that be start messing with our vehicle fuel everyone goes nutzzzzzz. it was the same when we turned to unleaded.

is there a warning on the pumps to tell you to check if your vehicle is built to use E10? i have never looked.

you will find that the people who have had problems have old vehicles that are needing seals and fuel lines changed anyway. petrol without E is corrosive so add in 20 years of people not changing stuff when they are supposed to = problems that they blame E for.

i cant remember off the top of my head but in the manual aren't SV owners to change out their fuel lines every 5 years? also o rings and gaskets perish, by and large they are all made from the same stuff and are fuel and oil resistant. you just have to look at what brake seals have to put up with to realise they are robust things.

start using E10 now and sort out any problems so you have none in the future.
