Edward Burtynsky is internationally acclaimed for his large-scale photographs of nature transformed by industry. Manufactured Landscapes – a stunning documentary by award winning director Jennifer Baichwal – follows Burtynsky to China, as he captures the effects of the country’s massive industrial revolution. This remarkable film leads us to meditate on human endeavour and its impact on the planet.

If this is of interest to anyone then make sure to check out the Koyaanisqatsi, Powaqqatsi, Naqoyqatsi trilogy by Godfrey Reggio with soundtrack music by Philip Glass.

Each film has a different theme but their overall focus is man's impact on the enviroment and has amazing footage of cities, wildlife, industry at work, sometimes stop-motion, sped-up, all sorts of techniques, and all set to minimalist music.

Highley recommended.
