What's more fun power or handling? I've always thought that a light motorcycle is more fun than a heavy one no matter how many horses you put into it. This guy seems to be on the same wavelength. It looks like there could be a good oportunity in the near future that the average Joe could build his own racer from a stock motorcross without having to chop the frame off or use any welding. Would you consider building one? ![]() http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wEQx4hcBb7I Check out his site for more www.450moto.com http://www.cycleworld.com/article.as...article_id=544 |

funnily enough I was talking to my brother about this very thing a few weeks ago, as he has a drz400sm, it seemed the engine would make a cracking little race bike.
I've always loved the 125cc class it seems far more enthusiastic than the bigger classes, much more enjoyable to watch, and the crashes are just that must more dramatic ![]() Cheers Mark.

It seems like it could be very inexpensive. If you've already got a 450cc motocross of any brand you could just pop in a new front end, some road wheels, rear sets and a new lower travel rear shock. That's basically it. If you get them from the scrapjard cheaper still! Converting one for the b roads is a temptation too! Remember you'll be into the 130kg zone with this. 60bhp is all you need to eat 600's in the twistees and that's were the fun's at

Saw this a while back and it became my number 3 project- unfortunately number two is a whole spondon-framed streetfighter so, number 3 will have to wait until about 2050

Be a right laugh on the road

I can't see it to be honest. Not racing. But I could see them selling kit conversions for people who get bored of off road stuff but don't want to shell out for a whole new bike.

I see they have Elena Myers riding one, she's a name to watch and my tip is she'll be the first ever woman MotoGP winner. 13 years old and already a big name in American road racing, and she can wheelie a supermoto bike like you wouldn't believe.
You heard it here first folks. |

are these kits avaliable? or any prices for them? ive always wanted to build a 100kg (ish) bike and thought supermoto was the way to go but this is a nice variation of that idea that i really like the sound of!
seeing as the new 250 crf/rmz are coming in at about 90kg and the 450s at about 105kg, could be really fun! are there any specs for the bikes? or is just a good idea with prototypes atm? |

So you need a modern 4-stroke MX bike, throw half of it away, get a pair of sports bike wheels, a new rear shock, a 'sports' front end ... some bodywork a custom exhaust, rearsets ... and a whole bag of time ... how is that going to be 'cheap'??
![]() Nice/funky idea, but thats as far as it goes ... |
