No suprises there. Robbing gits.
However this paragraph... "These figures only represent those motorists who bothered to challenge faulty tickets. Many simply pay up because they haven't got time to complain or they assume - wrongly - that they were at fault." ...probably explains why they will keep on doing it. There is still illegal profit to be made.

Not surprised, a family friend recently moved down your patch. His second day there he got a parking ticket and towed, despite having a residents permit showing, because it was upside down. I told him to challenge it and he was afraid to as he thought he would end up targeted. He acquired £600 in charges in his first month in London, as he learnt what he could and couldn't do.
