Hi guys
I'm looking for some help to sort out an email problem. Mrs Ratty sent me a CV at work to look at for a friend on Wednesday night. I had a look and sent back my comments to our home email (without the attachment). Now outlook is constantly sending that same email time a time again. It's queuing to come in all the time saying Recieving 1 0f 8. 234KB. It must have come in about 60 times so far and all dated Wed 9pm. I've checked my sent items at work and it was only sent once. I work for BAE Systems who have monster firewall and antivirus. What can I do to get rid of this???? I run Norton 2007 and all updates are current. Please help, it's driving me cuckoo !!!! Alan ![]()

Sounds like an SMTP transmission problem or a POP download problem more than anything to do with viruses.
To sort out a POP download problem, do you have the ability to check your email via web mail? Go to your ISP's web page and see if there is anywhere you can log in with a username and password (this is likely to be the same username and password you configured outlook with and will probably be on the details you got from your ISP when you signed up). You should find the email is there, delete it along with any other emails once you have read them (there will probably be 8 emails there, possibly all copies of this same one). Now open outlook and hit send recieve, you should recieve nothing. This may well be your problem solved. If the email arrives again and the same problem reoccurs, check your webmail again and a new copy will be there. In this case it's likely to be an SMTP transmission problem you can do nothing about, it's between your ISP and BAE. Log a call with both. Call both helpdesks regularly and insist that the call is not closed until your stop getting the emails, 'cos both are likely to say it's nothing to do with them having not really done much investigation. Ralph
Thanks for your help. I'm in work right now and I've tried calling help desk but they have been evacuated for some reason??? I'll have a look at the things you have advised when I get up tomorrow. Again, thanks for your help. Ratty
