buy a powerband for it!

blue give you a bit more torque,
red gives you ok torque but a bit more speed
and black gives you full on speed and torque!

you can buy them on ebay!

How much more are you after, and how much money do you want to spend. Do you use the bike everyday or is it a weekend toy ?

its been covered plenty of times, have a play with the search function and see what you can find.

If you big BHP gains, its going to be expensive and IMHO its not really worth it, if you want a faster bike then go and buy one, unless you like tinkering...

Buy Dangerous Dave's engine

Fizz is bang on the money. I like tinkering but it really makes very little sense. Mine kicks out around 80 horse at the rear wheel, it'd show on the dragstrip and it definately does show on track but on the road you just get used to it in no time at all, mine doesn't feel particularily powerful, unless I've just ridden a standard one.

If you want to make an SV a bit quicker and more fun to ride, a bit of cash spent on the suspension will pay off more than 5 times as much spent on the motor, IMO.

But neither really makes a lot of sense in the final analysis, you could sell your nice fresh SV and get a GSXR750 or an early Mille or a used SV thou and get miles more power and better suspension to boot.

But some of us didn't pay much heed to sense

A while back someone was selling a GS1000 with a powerband fitted on Ebay, saw the link on OSS. We were all trying to get in on the joke, til it turned out the guy really believed it

More power?

Sell the SV, get a GSXR600 or something similar.

Instant power upgrade. You can get a K1 GSXR600 for about £2500 I reckon
