Default Scottoiler FS365 - time to wash off?

Hi all,

I've just been out having a good luck over my bike and am wondering whether it's time to wash off the FS365 or is better to wait a while a longer - what do you think?

I gave the bike a liberal coating back in November to protect it whilst it stood in the garage and also on the occasional winter 'jaunt' when roads were relatively dry and salt free. It's the first time that I have used it and it has worked well - no furring etc.
The bike looks a bit 'grubby' now and I would like to get it looking good for the spring.
What do you think - leave on for another month or so or wash off? Does anyone ever leave it on permanently?
Also, what's best to get it off. I was thinking of giving it a good spray with Muc Off and agitating with a soft brush and then washing off.

All thoughts/advice gratefully received! Thanks

Or you could wash it off and re-apply it... I dont think we're done with the could weather just yet... so we might get some more grit on the roads.

But yep give it a good spray with MUC off and then rinse with a hose or wash off with bucket and sponge and you'll have got it off.

Its water soluable so its easy to get it off, which is why you need re-apply again after everywash or riding in the rain or on damp roads.

On my old bike I applied this weekly on it`s washdown . I sprayed my SV with it yesterday but she got dirty with me after 188 miles of pure enjoyment , I`ll be hosing her down tomorrow and will reapply FS365 after she has dried .

I put 365 on after every wash or wet ride. At £20 for a 5 litre refill I reckon it's paying for itself in non furry fasteners!

s stated, FS365 just gets washed off in the rain or whilst you're washing the bike, it's not a "apply once and forget about it" kind of product like ACF-50 is.

I usually apply some after every wash.

+ 1, this is why I use ACF-50 but then I use the bikes all year round.

I use FS365 after every wash, ACF-50 goes on about three times over the Winter as it will wash off a tad with solvents.

Thanks for the info guys. I,m interested in the difference between the 365 and the ACF - 50.
Just wondered what are the benefits of applying the 365 stuff when the ACF - 50 doesn't wash off so much? I think it's because the ACF 50 really seems to attract the dirt so you have to be prepared to just leave it on.
I really want to protect my new bike as best I can. I wrecked my CB 500 through three winters a few years back despite washing constantly - mind you the Scottoiler 355 stuff wasn't on the market then I don't think.

Any more advice re this and thanks for the previous info!

FS365 after each wash keeps the local corrosion at bay throughout the year and is pretty good stuff. ACF50 is a different animal.

ACF50 does wash off with solvents like Muck Off etc but takes a longer time to go. I re-apply ACF50 two to three times over the winter months and things seem to survive well. Yes it does attract the crap but if you clean the bike spotless after each ride in the winter should be OK with FS365. If not ACF50 and a grubby bike for a few months is worth it IMHO.
