Talking stopped twice

I have been riding nearly everyday for four years now and have been lucky enough to have never been pulled . Well today that all changed as I was pulled over twice . Talk about making up for lost time .
I set off up weardale this morning giving it some but not going to mental . I caught up with 2 other guys at wolsingham and traveled with them for a while . Another bike was trailing so all in all there were 4 bikes not to far apart from each other . When we got to stanhope I lost sight of the 2 in front due to traffic only then to see them pulled over in a lay-by . As I tried to pass I too was waved over and so was the bike behind me . Luckily it was a couple of police bikers just dishing out advice and no-one was pulled properly . TBH the guys were alright and didn't even look at our bikes . I was a bit weary about continuing my journey as I had removed the baffle today and thought once they heard my bike I would be pulled for sure . Imagine my relief when the guy infront on the blue zx9r had also done the same and his bike was even louder than mine . No-one was pulled and we all went our seperate ways .
Later this afternoon I was progressing along the A69 from Hexham to Haltwhistle when a patrol car came up behind me . It tailed me for ages but as I was just making steady progress I didn't give them a second thought . Well I looked in my mirror and too my horror saw him right up my ar$e with all lights blazing . I then pulled over in a parking lay-by to let him pass and then he pulls up behind me , sh!t . When he got out of the car he seemed to show a great deal of interest in the plate on my bike . You see I have recently replaced it for a slightly smaller 8x6 . He then said not to take my helmet off as he just wanted to check my tax . The ANPR system had flagged me up as not having tax . I do have tax and it is valid till 31/10 so no problems . I was also happy to see that my smaller plate is legal(ish) as the ANPR can see it .I then asked the police for the best way to get to a particular road I wanted to be on , we both smiled and went on our way .
So although I was pulled twice today no harm was done and I am sound in the knowledge that what I thought were minor illegalities have turned out not to turn the nose up of the local constabularies . Result .

Well glad you wernt nurnt at the stake for these minor offences.

I got pulled not so long ago as I pulled up behind a police biker on the local bypass in a jam he said "mind if I have a work" So I followed him to a layby, he asked what I was using the bike for I said "im comming back from Fylingdales, going home". he then said "oh, you in the RAF?" Aye I said turns out his son is too. So next he did a check on the bike, turns out its classed as a 1000cc scooter heh. He had a look about (had small plate then but ive gone back to standard, not worth the hastle if the police got out of the wrong side of bed) at the small plate and slightly loud pipes but he said "South yorkshire police dont mind as it doesnt effect safety". I then got some leaflets and went on my way.

All in not too bad. Was snowing at the time... :S

You'll probs find that the majority of police bikers will turn a blind eye to plates and cans (unless it is ridiculously placed as in right down behind the back wheel or if its ridiculously small) because they are trying to educate riders by dishing out bikesafe stuff. I got some stuff last weekend when I was up at St Marys Loch.
