I need some proper gloves for the bike, I have been using winter cycling gloves since I bout the bike well over 18 months ago.........I know!
I did also purchase a pair of AlpineStar Drystar gloves which I find to be too thick and too hot, so I use them as spares when the others are wet. Does the mighty org have any suggestions for some thinish gloves with adequate protection which will not bankrupt me. |

I want some alpinstar SP1's think they are about £80
They are very comfy and look to offer loads of protection, they do them in a nice black/white colour.

I'm using a pair of Alpinestars Road Tech (or Tech Road) and they're seriously comfy!
http://www.harpersraceshop.co.uk/item2135.htm They've got a Goretex liner in them too so no worries about being caught in a shower etc. |

I've had a pair of those for 4 years now (slightly different design but more or less the same) and they are holding up really well. Occasionaly though, there is a seam that digs in a bit on longer rides. |

I got some Frank Thomas summer gloves that have vents in the fingers to stop you getting sweaty paws and they have protection over the knuckles. V comfy too and fit perfectly. Your best bet is to try as many pairs as you can..

I've got some Alpinestar SP1s, they are very comfy (now they're broken in), look to offer loads of protection, have a nice secure wrist arrangement and I think they look pretty cool in black/white.

I have a pair of Richa Supersports (I think), in red, that cost me around £65. They are thin, lightweight, and very comfortable. They make my Frank Thomas winter gloves feel like a pair of boxing gloves.
They are cool when it's warm and are reasonably warm when it gets a bit nippy. They seem to have pretty good protection in all the right places and also have a nice wrist and cuff strap arrangement. Don't know what they'd be like in a spill though, and I don't want to find out either thank you very much! Here's a link: http://www.richa.be/en/indexen.htm |
