Possibly, maybe, but I'm sure you could entertain yourself without using a right turn filter for overtaking! Its the big steel boxes that can put bikers in wooden boxes.

Whilst I totally agree for those wishing to air on the side of caution it would be wise to stick to the centre of the lane at all times, however, no white paint or coloured tarmac will over ride observation and using the available space whilst it's safe IMO, everyone has different observational speed and it's skill worth practise.
