Default Revolutions Rideout this Sunday 31/8/08

Just in case anyone has missed this in the Sticky section.

http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.php?t=114150

We shall be meeting Mr Spiers at Chelveston at 8.15, then heading this way so we have time for brekkie. (Subject to confirmation on time from Mr S )

I take it your doing the get to the meet point with the quickest route. I would join you as my house is only a couple of miles away at one point, but I find the route your doing a bit plain. But I guess I can be a little more fussy as I'm 50 miles closer to the start point.

This is the route I shall be doing:

Well actually Scott, Google recommended the A14 all the way. Both Mr Spiers and myself are gonna be on new rubber so we'd rather not straightline it anyway hence the route I chose, however if we can meet maybe you can lead us through this more twisty route.

We could meet Seggons in St Neots and follow him on his route. Then we will be on twisties all the way. Just an idea. There should still be enough time to get some brekkie at Red Lodge i reckon but I might be wrong.

My thought too Chris. It's 20 miles to Scotts. We would need an easily findable meet point. Petrol station or some such. Over to you Scott?

Right this is my plan:

Meet point: Tesco's fuel station. This is the best place because you can both top up your tanks (if needs be). I'm open to change on this if you prefer a different place/easier to find place, just let me know and I'll find somewhere else.

If worst comes to worst we could meet at my house but that then means going backwords before going forwards.

Time: Well this is where you may hate my plan, my TomTom (which does over estimate on B roads) is saying it's a 1 hour 42 min ride @ ~48.5 miles. So if the meet point is Tesco's fuel station and we plan to be at the Red Lodge at 10am, that will mean being fuelled and ready to go at ~8:15am. For me that's fine, but I'm worried it might be a very early start for the both of you?

If you want a quick route then the route you picked is fine Pete, but the road starts off as a wide single carrigeway, then it goes into dual carrigeway, the road is about as twisty as a motorway.

Down to you guys.

TBH that does take us a far way out of our way so we're gonna withdraw from meeting Seggons. Until later obviously

So Mr Speirs if you want to meet up with Scott that's ok.
