Default £500 test

twas reading my lovely MCN and in the letters page, someone was saying that up north a riding school has block booked all the tests and charging £500 for each test to sell them on (i did not know you could do that) but if its true, thats gotta be profiteering.... dont have link here, but its easy to find on the letters page in MCN....

this post probably dont make sense... i just wanted to get it off chest... i have people like that... specially if they call themselves bikers

I was under the impression schools were only allowed to block-book a certain number of tests each. Sounds like boswallox.

There's a riding school local to me who block booked a large number of places and was charging through the nose for them too. Now the new test has been postponed he's kicking himself, because many new riders have now boycotted his firm when they found out about his over-charging and he's now stuck with them unbooked having lashed out a lot of money. Serves him right.

And they can only book them so many weeks in advance. If there is more than one centre in an area, they all become available at the same time on the same day so all the schools are phoning at once - pot luck which they get through to first.
