Default Consumer advice please

Hmmm, bit of advice reqd if any ones clued up on consumer law.

heres the rub,

on sunday i saw advertised a product that was extremely good value, it wasnt something that could be called an error, say something for £330 being sold at £3.30 or such like, it was a dishwasher reduced by a lot but not by an ammount that could be accounted to technical error,

the nationally recognised shop, B&Q took my order, accepted my credit card details and emailed "confirmation of order" to me, however no money was taken from my card at this stage.

the confiramtion said the itme was out of stock but would be delivered within 2 weeks, and i would receive confirmation of delivery date within 3 days,

when this didnt arrive i contacted them and asked when i could expect delivery.

this was the reply i received.

Dear Customer,

We regret to inform you that we are unable to accept your order for Zanussi Dishwasher(s) ZDT6053.

This is due to a system error on our website which caused us to continue taking orders for the product after our stocks had been exhausted. This model of dishwasher has now been discontinued and consequently B&Q will not be stocking it in the future.

We apologise for any disappointment this may have caused and confirm that no money has been debited from your account for the Zanussi Dishwasher(s) ZDT6053.

so where do i stand the dishwasher should have been around £300 they advertised it at £8o something and even advertised this as agreat saving of £200 some pounds.

do i have any comeback against b&q to provide me with the product or to offer an alternative at a discount??

i dont wnat to go in all guns blazing, quite yet.

Sadly no. The company has a right not to sell you the product if they have made a mistake on the price. If they are not going to stock the item then thats that. There is something in the T&C about submissions, corrections and deletions etc that covers this sort of thing with prices. I had it recently with B&Q with a back door that was dirt cheap etc.
