take the bike to get the chain rivetted after you've fit it.

i bought a suzuki gen. part which is a continuouse chain. removed swing arm, exhaust etc to fit it in one. more work but it gives you the opportunity to give everything a good clean.
make sure you loosen the front sprocket nut first, a pig to do when its all apart. |

use a big piece of wood to chock the rear wheel onto the swinging arm then you can crack off the frony nut on the front sprocket...
NOT TO SELF... remember not to use the 1/3 of the wheel with the tyre inflation valve.... as I did this and had to renew the blassted thing. and get a chain riviter...

No it won't fall off, but they come with a split link, that is or isn't a permanent fixture, whatever way you look at it. Sorry didn't mean to scare you. If you get it rivetted, then its permanent innit

Firstly crack the front sprocket nut, with an assistant to stand on the back brake for you.
Then swap the stuff over... To rivet the chain, you have a few options. Probably the easiest is to put a clip link on it, then take it to a pro to rivet it with a soft link. Or you can peen a soft link over with a hammer to join it, but it is best to take it somewhere and have it done with a decent rivetter or borrow one.

cause usually they are stuck solid. When Suzy was in the garage of doom, YC expected it to come off with a fight, and enlisted the help of a breaker bar and his bro to steady the back end......oh how I laughed when he said he went to give it a right good heaveho and he fell on his **** cause it was a little loose!!
