Can anyone help with a wee problem i have?

on my way home today in the lovely Aberdeen rain my SV650S 2003 started to act up.

it started to strugle to keep the engine on while waiting at lights & when i was on open raod i started to lose power.

it felt like the power was on but just not coming through.

i know there is an issue with the location of the front spark plug but not sure if its to do with that.

just got the bike 2 weeks ago. the rad has a small kink in it but the dealer says its fine.

any ideas?????????????????????

please

cheers

stewart

check your HT leads and plug tops, make sure there dry as a bone.
check you air filter, it may be super gunked up.
has your rear brake scized on?
fuel filter?
take both plugs out and check the condition and gap

just check all the basic things

Sounds like water in the front plug. I have had this many times and each time I struggle with power when stationary and can only manage 50mph and getting there is slow and jerky.

Clean the drain hole (right hand side) and squirt LOTS of WD40 in the drain hole and in the plug area to make sure the water drains out. When teh WD40 comes out of the drain hole ya done well hehe

Then make sure the plug lead is back in place OK, mine kept popping off making it run on one again.

Run it and it will (should) be back to normal.

Then grease it or fender extender that has been mentioned.

It feels fatal but it really isn't and even I can mend it now thanks to orgers showing me how ! And I am rubbish if it is bike related

EDIT - undo the rad and it will swing forward nice enuf for you to get ya dinky hands in to play with ya plug

The fact you aren't on the Aberdeen Banter Hotline and live in Aberdeenshire will cause most problems for you

In all seriousness, silicon grease and fender extender, cured all my problems last year.

Are you on a blue or yellow curvy?
We seen 2 SV's yesterday..

That's the solution + make sure that the drain hole on the front cylinder is clear.
I've also kept a mini WD40 can under the seat just in case, but never needed it.
Where about in Aberdeen are you? If you need a hand give us a shout in the Aberdeen banter hotline.
