Default D Day Vets

Any body got a D Day vet in their family?

Have admiration for all the old guys who are still going and for the lads who died trying.

We are usually in France this week and I love talking to them and hearing their stories

They are all heroes to me

My Grandpa was the Navigator on the Minesweeper that cleared the approaches to Sword Beach.
He was in love with maps and charts and as a kid, he would never read me a story when I was a kid, we would sit down and read maps. I loved it and miss him loads. He died on my 21st birthday. Always one to steal the show!

Some of you know of his bench above Slaidburn. If you are over that way, stop off and say hello. He hated bikes! Makes me laugh every time I visit!!
