Default I crashed into a cyclist on Waterloo Bridge.

And Waterloo Bridge.

Apologies to anyone who was delayed getting home due to the White Van, Abandoned Bicycle, 2 Police Cars, one Bike Paramedic Bike, an Ambulance and last, but not least, a Z750 being "parked" on Waterloo Bridge.....

Before I go into the details, neither Teraza or I went to hospital and I only went into the Ambulance in a "to check on Teraza" capacity.

What happened, well came round onto Waterloo Bridge heading South alongside a White Van, me to the left, him to the right.

Was passing him when the cyclist who must have been sitting directly in front of the Van driver, decides to swing across to the Cycle lane.

So suddenly I have a cyclist less than 10 feet in front of me, getting closer all the time.

So I slam on the anchors, but no use, my front wheel makes contact with his rear and we are tipped to the right, so end up bouncing off the side of the van as we go down.

The usual slippy-slidey along the road continues (fortunatly the van is going faster than we are at this point, so ends up in front of us as we go down.

Now I thought I knew how physics work, but somewhere in it all as we are going down, T's lid manages to pick up some scratches (brand new £380 Schuberth C3 as of yesterday), yet we end up lying on the road with me on my back, Teraza lying on top of me at right angles, her head on my chest.

Bystanders take control of the situation, a passing doctor takes control, asks the usual questions, then an Paramedic on a Bike turns up and takes control, along with a couple of car-loads of cops, who then have the lovely task of clearing traffic to let the Ambulance through from Aldwych.

Eventually we get let up, and Teraza is taken on a stretcher into the Ambulance to get checked over more fully - shes going to have a lovely bruise on her hip in a day or so, I'm walking wounded, so get the Paramedic to check my left thumb out - bruised, possibly sprained but fine.

Upshot it, ambulance crew dont think a trip to hospital is necessary, so Teraza gets a lift home from the cops, and I ride the Zed home.

Big downsides - the cyclist abandoned the bike and ran, I technically his the Van, so I guess its my Insurance thats going to take the hit, as well as the loss of a pair of Draggin Combats, 2 lids, and damage to the bike, which may need to be sold as I may not be able to insure it without the NCB, good job I got the SV running....

Cyclist there just a fupping plague, simple as, never bother to check behind them, just point and cycle all the damn time, im surprised he ran, must have not gotten a bad enough bang.

Main thing as always ye are both ok, shame about the insurance situation, but they might put it down to the cyclists fault, and come to some deal on the van's damage, if there is any.

Bummer, glad your ok though.
Damn cyclists p1ss me off, they think the road is just for them yet they dont have to pay insurance, tax, no form of training or license required, bikes not checked for road worthiness, no license plate for tracing purposes, yet can still cause damage / cause injury on the roads and walk or run away scott free.

Well apart from the Lever, the bike needs a bit of a close look to see it was on its side.

I guess you came past after the ambulance went then.

Glad to hear you're OK Dave.

Real **** of the cyclist though, but to be expected really. It must have been a bad day for cycling skills, they were all begging to be knocked off it seems.
