Hi everyone
in the middle of taking the rear fairings off to fit a new tail tidy. Only problem is the very rear ( tail light unit ) as i cant manage to undo the bolts holding all the plastics together , they are the only 4 around the tail unit but still cant manage to shift them. Are there any nacks or just abit more force?? Thanks Brock. [Edit] its a ponty k4 btw |

Did my tail tidy a few months ago and other than finding it a real arseache in general, I don't remember any particularly tricky bolts.
It might be that the bolts turning as you turn the screw and you need to hold one end steady with some pliers or something as you do it. Or you might just need to give it a bit more welly. Putting it back together was the really tricky bit. |

Unclip all press clips on the back plastics, this will give you a tiny bit more space. There are 2 press clips by the tail light, not obvious without having a good look. HTH. |

^ hmm all the sv crash bungs should be interchangeable from k3-k7 (or 8 carnt quite remember) as the frames are the same just diff color code unless you received full faired ones but they still should fit

Have you removed the old "snow plough"? Do the 4 bolt holes on the tail tidy not line up with the holes on the rear frame? Qustion for all orgers:is the rear frame different on this paticular year ![]() Is it a K3 registered in 2004? I believe the K3 rear differs from the K4. |

ive had a tail tidy before and it has died once but has finaly started to die so i thought id buy a nice r&g one finaly.
K4 not 2004 k3, not sure what difference to the moutings there is between the models i just thought it was hight of the frame. The way they mounting plates are wrong is that there are 2 new bolts that must screw into them ( these have threads inside which the actualy tidy tails bolts to ). but anyways these 2 new ones dont screw into the plate fully or at all really i mean 80% of the thread is still showing. a la my problem....getting new ones sent out though. |
