Default Fender Extender Effectiveness

Exactly how effective are the fender extenders for the sv650, in particular this one?
http://www.pyramid-plastics.co.uk/ca...products_id=98

Im going to be commuting in winter, and am looking for ways to prevent mainly salt from hitting the vulnerable areas.

Worth the doh?

Purely in terms of material costs they are expensive IMO, but judging by the amount of crap I've washed off the back of mine they certainly do a good job.

Certainly pricey, £17 for a piece of plastic and a few screws! Oh well, i did the did and ordered the bugger.

Im contemplating using a strong glue rather than screws though (recently read a thread about that somewere on here)
