Default Fitting a centre stand?

Hi there. I've just bought my first sv650. I want to fit a centre stand. Local dealer advised it's best to find one off eBay or the like and then take it to be fitted. There aren't many sv stands on eBay but plenty of Suzuki ones. Does anyone know if it needs to be model specific?
Cheers. Ben

Wemoto used to sell them. They come from Germany. I bought one many moons ago, as I was nagged to death by the ex partner that it would come in useful for servicing etc.
I thought the opposite, as I can't even get a bike on a centrestand so deemed it useless, and sold it, never went near the bike!
They are around 90 quid IIRC and if they still sell them

Wouldn't a centre stand be better for parking in packed London bays?!

I wouldn't know, I don't live in London
Besides, if an SV was supposed to have a centre stand, it would already have one

I would say no, if the bike is upright it will mean somebody will be able to park nearer to it giving you even less room to get the thing out. It is expensive, unnecessary, unsightly, inconvenient and more to maintain. So question remains the same.

Why?

Exactly my thoughts, side stands buys you room when you pick the bike up vertical!

Then in another thread you want to widen it by fitting full luggage?

The one on wemoto is silly price, £164.90 + Delivery.

I'd rather buy an abba stand and gaffa tape it to the bottom on my bike.

I have thought about a centre stand for my SV, then I got a bike that has one and actually really like it.

I should point out though that I am an old lady and am not sure that I could lift the SV onto a centre stand though, I struggle with the XJ and she is smaller and lighter!
