Went to start the bike last weekend after a few months and it took quite a while.
Ended up starting with no choke and for a while only the rear cylinder. Finally cleared and petrol stopped pouring out of the front cylinder (guess the front exhaust gasket is gone). So anyway, I checked the plugs in it, it's running CR9E's, not the standard CR8E's. Does anyone know why it would be running a hotter plug? Because of the extra incoming fuel/air mixture? So anyway, I am going to replace the plugs and get a pack of 10 for the season so my question is... Do I get standard CR8E or do I run the CR9E that it ran fine with in October and all last season as far as I am aware. |

Actually says in Haynes manual use CR9E if fast road riding. I have CR9EIX in mine (Iridium) and I believe most racers have the CR9EIX's in.

i found mine ran better on cr9ix's rather than cr8ix's. With the 8's it used to hunt/scavenge a bit when ticking over in the cold.
hope this helps. |

cr9 is colder, not hotter. Both will do just fine, 8 and 9.
