Default MOT responsibility

O.k folks so another question regarding company cars and who the onus is on to keep things up to date....

Yet again there's another issue with cars, got a newish one last friday night and noticed it has a sticker in the windscreen, MOT due 21/05/11.

So a quick phone call to the boss and he's still unsure if it's been MOT'd or not. Now i'm guessing I'm supposed to be at work monday. So the question is, if I get pulled, who get's the blame?

Thanks,

Si.

I believe it will be you as the driver, I'm sure someone will be along shortly to clarify

You as the driver and you have the right to expect payment for getting to work or another location (home) to work from. You are also within your rights to state that you are not using the car until its legal.

Have you checked online about the MOT status of the car?

yeah I can't see that going down well but i'll give it a try, i tried NTEC but the office holds the V5 and you need that to do it or a failure certificate.

you'd think so wouldn't you. I asked my boss and he pretty much just said 'he'd sort it' and hung up, i even offered to ring up the helpline to check if he'd give me the number on the V5 but he wasn't interested. I love my job.
